Job summary

Tiger Brands in Crown Mines is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to operate, monitor and maintain production machinery safely to meet targets and quality standards.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, ensure health and safety compliance, and complete sanitation and daily reports. The role requires teamwork, English communication, and basic computer literacy.

Qualifications

  • FETC (NQF4) or Grade 12 (matric) required.
  • 3–5 years in continuous process operators in food manufacturing.
  • Some mechanical experience on machines is required.
  • Computer literacy and ability to follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor and maintain production machinery safely to meet targets and quality standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems to implement corrective actions.
  • Engage in preventative maintenance/condition monitoring.
  • Enforce Health and Safety standards and maintain housekeeping.
  • Prepare daily shift inputs with materials, utilities and safety equipment for the line.
  • Report end-of-shift volumes and deviations to the next shift and supervisor.

## Machine OperatorApply: Onsite: Crown Mines: Full time: Posted Today: End Date: October 13, 2026 (5 days left to apply): JR003437It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!Operate, monitor and maintain production machinery safely and efficiently in order to achieve production targets, quality standards and compliance requirements.* Correct problem identification and troubleshooting to implement innovative solutions* Actively participates in preventative maintenance/Condition monitoring.* Enforces Health and Safety standards* Completes housekeeping and daily condition monitoring reports* Basic maintenance as required* Prepares daily assigned operational requirements in accordance with the production plan by making sure that there are available raw materials/semi-finished products and relevant utilities, and adequate safety and work equipment at the commencement of the shift (and during the shift) if required or instructed to do so by the direct manager or his delegated nominee.* Operation of the automated/ manual processing production line.* Accountable for the compliance of produced product to Davita quality requirements on his/her line and take immediate necessary action to correct any quality defects and report same.* Cleans his/her workplace as per the defined cleaning procedures (E.g. equipment, tools and surrounding area) and completes the relevant documentation in respect of sanitation expectations* Operator is responsible for making decisions on the line should there be a mechanical or electrical problem leading to a deviation from machine speed, efficiency, safety or quality expectations (Decision to stop production and take necessary corrective action and / or report immediately)* Performs all reasonable request in relation to the operational requirements of the line, machinery, process packaging.* Reports (verbal and/or written) at the end of each shift the achieved volumes and / or deviations to new shift and to the direct manager or his delegated nominee**Competencies and requirements:*** Computer literacy* Product, process, specification and quality knowledge Team player* Verbal and written communication (English)* Knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures* Knowledge of health and safety procedures and standards**Minimum Qualifications and Experience:*** Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) (NQF level 4) minimum is required, or a related Grade 12 (matric) qualification* 3-5 years relevant experience in continuous process (chemical/Mechanical) operators within the food manufacturing environment* Must have some mechanical experience- done mechanical work on machineIn accordance with the employment equity plan of Tiger Brands and its employment equity goals and targets, preference may be given, but is not limited, to candidates from under-represented designated groups.
