The role requires a B.Sc. or Diploma in Agriculture, a valid driving licence, and practical experience in harvesting, pruning, fertilisation; mechanical aptitude is advantageous. You will train and supervise farm workers and maintain infrastructure.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. degree or Diploma in Agriculture, preferably related to plant production.
• A valid standard vehicle driving licence is required; a heavy vehicle driving licence will be advantageous.
• Practical farm experience in harvesting, pruning and fertilisation is desirable.
• Mechanical knowledge and practical mechanical ability will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Upkeep of farm road infrastructure.
• Water reticulation.
• Fence maintenance.
• Dam and pump maintenance.
• Building maintenance.
• Access control.
• Report to the Director as and when required.
• Oversee maintenance of the three houses on the premises and all other farm buildings.
• Train and supervise farm workers. The Farm Manager is ultimately responsible for the effective execution of all operational activities.
• Keep the asset register accurate and up to date.
