Job summary

The President Hotel in Cape Town is seeking Housekeeping Housemen for a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will support the daily Housekeeping operation, assist with linen, amenities and housekeeping supplies, and help Room Attendants and Supervisors across multiple floors to maintain high cleanliness standards.

The role requires previous hotel housekeeping experience, physical fitness to lift and move linen, and a team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Previous Houseman or Housekeeping experience within a hotel environment essential
• Experience in a large, high-volume 4-star or 5-star hotel environment advantageous
• Must be available to work on a fixed-term contract
• Good understanding of hotel housekeeping operations and cleanliness standards
• Experience handling and distributing linen, towels, guest amenities and housekeeping supplies
• Experience supporting Room Attendants and Housekeeping Supervisors during daily room operations
• Ability to lift and carry linen, supplies and equipment safely
• Strong teamwork and reliability, with good communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operation of the Housekeeping department
• Assist Room Attendants and Supervisors to service guest rooms and floors efficiently
• Collect and distribute linen, towels and supplies
• Transport soiled linen to designated areas
• Replenish linen cupboards and housekeeping stations
• Deliver guest amenities and requested items to rooms
• Ensure Room Attendants have necessary linen and supplies
• Move trolleys and equipment safely between areas
• Handle waste and maintain cleanliness of corridors and service areas
• Report maintenance defects to supervisors
• Maintain stock levels in assigned areas
• Assist during busy periods and high occupancy
• Follow health, safety and manual handling procedures
• Represent the hotel professionally in guest areas
• Collaborate with other Housekeeping team members to meet standards
• Ensure all areas are completed before each shift end
• Contribute to a positive and efficient housekeeping team environment
• Maintain elevated standards at The President Hotel
