Job summary

Bright Placements is seeking an experienced Luxury Driver to provide safe, discreet transportation for hotel guests in the Cape Town area. This role covers airport transfers, private chauffeur services, and sightseeing excursions while upholding a 5-star guest experience.

You will work closely with Concierge and Front Office teams, ensure vehicle readiness, and share local insights on Cape Town features, wineries, and dining. A strong service mindset and impeccable presentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a professional chauffeur or luxury hotel driver.
• Experience with VIP/international guests and luxury hotel environments.
• Strong knowledge of Cape Town, surrounding areas, and major attractions.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, punctual transport for hotel guests using luxury vehicles.
• Conduct airport transfers, corporate transfers, and chauffeur-driven tours.
• Welcome guests, assist with luggage, and ensure a personalized arrival/departure.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion for VIP guests.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and maintained to luxury standards.
• Plan safe travel routes and monitor traffic/weather conditions.
• Coordinate transfer schedules with Concierge and Front Office teams.
• Provide guests with local information on Cape Town highlights and experiences.
• Maintain guest comfort and manage luggage handling as needed.
• Keep detailed records of transfers, mileage, fuel, and guest requests.

Job Purpose
The Luxury Driver is responsible for providing safe, professional, and discreet transportation services for hotel guests while delivering an exceptional 5-star guest experience. The role includes airport transfers, private chauffeur services, sightseeing excursions, vehicle maintenance, and assisting the Concierge and Front Office teams to ensure seamless guest arrivals and departures.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, punctual, and comfortable transportation for hotel guests using luxury vehicles.
• Conduct airport transfers, corporate transfers, and chauffeur-driven excursions.
• Welcome guests warmly, assist with luggage, and ensure a personalized arrival and departure experience.
• Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion when transporting VIP and high-profile guests.
• Ensure all vehicles are clean, polished, fueled, and maintained to luxury hospitality standards before every journey.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
• Plan the safest and most efficient travel routes while monitoring traffic and weather conditions.
• Coordinate transfer schedules with the Concierge, Front Office, Reservations, and Guest Relations teams.
• Provide guests with information about Cape Town, Hout Bay, the Cape Peninsula, restaurants, wineries, attractions, and local experiences.
• Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage and personal belongings.
• Ensure guest comfort by maintaining vehicle temperature, refreshments, cleanliness, and amenities.
• Keep accurate records of transfers, mileage, fuel usage, maintenance, and guest requests.
• Collect and deliver guest parcels, documents, or special requests as instructed.
• Ensure strict compliance with South African road traffic regulations and hotel safety policies.
• Maintain complete confidentiality regarding guest identities, travel plans, and personal information.
• Support Concierge and Bell services during quieter operational periods.
• Respond professionally to guest complaints or special requests and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain excellent grooming and uphold the hotel's luxury brand image at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Valid South African driver's licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) (essential).
• Defensive or advanced driving certification (advantageous).
• Hospitality or Tourism qualification (advantageous).
• First Aid certification (advantageous).

Experience Required

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a professional chauffeur or luxury hotel driver.
• Previous experience within a 4-star or 5-star hotel, luxury lodge, or VIP transport environment.
• Experience transporting international and VIP guests.
• Strong knowledge of Cape Town, Hout Bay, the Atlantic Seaboard, Winelands, and major tourist attractions.
• Experience driving luxury vehicles such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Range Rover, Lexus, or similar premium brands.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Professional communication in English (additional languages are advantageous).
• Excellent driving ability with an outstanding safety record.
• Strong geographical knowledge and GPS navigation skills.
• High level of discretion and confidentiality.
• Time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
