Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Long-Haul Freight Driver to join our expanding fleet, operating primarily out of Mossel Bay, Western Cape.

You will transport goods over long distances, maintain the vehicle, and ensure compliance with road transport regulations, safety, and schedules. The role requires a Code 14 (CE) license with PrDP and a minimum of 5 years’ long-haul experience, plus independent work and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Code 14 (CE) driver''s license with PrDP.
• Minimum of 5 years of long-haul freight experience.
• Knowledge of South African road networks and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently for extended periods.
• Strong communication and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty vehicles (e.g., semi-trailers) for long-distance freight transportation.
• Plan and execute routes effectively to meet delivery deadlines, considering rest periods and legal driving hour limits.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on the truck and trailer to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
• Securely load and unload freight, ensuring it is properly protected during transit.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation related to trips, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
