The candidate should have 3–5 years in logistics operations, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience with WMS/TMS systems. A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related field is preferred.

About the Role

Our client, a leading supply chain solutions provider, is seeking a proactive and skilled Logistics Operations Controller to join their dynamic team in Randburg, Gauteng . This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily flow of goods, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining high service levels across various logistics functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, transportation management, and inventory control. You will play a critical part in problem-solving and driving operational improvements to meet client needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and manage day-to-day logistics operations, including warehousing and transportation. Coordinate with internal teams (warehouse, transport, customer service) and external partners (carriers, suppliers) to ensure smooth operations. Track shipments and proactively identify and resolve any issues or delays. Ensure adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations. Analyze operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Assist in the implementation of new logistics processes and technologies. Prepare and present operational reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs). Manage inventory flow and accuracy within the supported network. Respond to operational inquiries and provide timely solutions to stakeholders. Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives and efficiency improvements within the logistics network.

Requirements

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics operations, supply chain management, or a related field. Proven experience in coordinating warehouse and transportation activities. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in logistics software, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transport Management Systems (TMS). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Understanding of health and safety regulations in logistics. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a relevant field is preferred. Experience in a client-facing or account management role is a plus.
