Econofoods is seeking a dynamic Logistics Manager to lead and optimise all logistics operations across our distribution network. You will balance service levels, cost, and efficiency while championing safety and quality in a fast-growing FMCG environment.

You will oversee warehouse operations, transport execution, inventory accuracy, and labour productivity, driving continuous improvement and ensuring OTIF delivery to stores and wholesale customers.

Responsabilités

• Aligning to the centrally developed logistics strategy, develop and implement regional Distribution Centre strategy to optimize the supply chain.
• Collaborate with senior management to align logistics activities with overall business objectives.
• Forecasting of fleet, warehouse capacity and space and labour for seasoning peak and new stores opening.
• Strategy route planning, fuel efficiencies, centralised vs decentralised distribution.
• Ensure efficient receiving, storage, picking, replenishment and dispatch activities.
• Optimise warehouse layouts and operational flow.
• Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
• Develop operational plans to support business growth.
• Drive best practice inventory management through cycle counting, location control and strong stock reconciliation processes to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy and minimal shrink.
• Drive continuous improvement across logistics operations.
• Manage and maintain of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) within the Distribution Centre.
• Use system data and reporting to drive improvements in inventory accuracy, productivity and service levels.
• Ensure reliable and efficient distribution of products to Econofoods retail stores and wholesale customers.
• Executive the delivery schedules and routes to improve on-time delivery performance and transport efficiency.
• Ensure high levels of order accuracy and fulfilment reliability.
• Take ownership of service levels and ensure that stores and customers receive the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time (OTIF).
• Monitor transport costs and delivery performance.
• Manage third-party logistics providers where applicable.
• Investigate delivery failures and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with Sales, Retail and Procurement.
• Resolve customer delivery issues.
• Improve service levels.
• Support business continuity.
• Ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
• Implement and enforce quality control measures and food safety measures to maintain the integrity of products, vehicles and equipment throughout the supply chain.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
• Create and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain consistency.
• Maintain a clean, healthy and hygienic work place.
• Ensure compliance with OHSA requirements.
• Maintain food safety ISO22000 standards.
• Ensure PPE compliance.
• Lead warehouse safety initiatives.
• Conduct audits and assessments to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Manage incident investigations.
• Ensure audit readiness.
• Reporting of IODs and LTIs timeously to the relevant stakeholders and / or authorities.
• Manage logistics operating budgets.
• Control warehouse labour costs and productivity.
• Monitor transport expenditure.
• Drive productivity improvements.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure efficient utilisation of equipment and resources.
• Lead, develop and coach the logistics team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
• Empower teams by delegating tasks and responsibilities to improve knowledge and accountability.
• Conduct performance management.
• Drive employee engagement and culture initiatives in collaboration with the People Operations Partner.
• Work closely with the People Operations team to build and maintain a future fit succession plan.
• Build a high-performance logistics culture.
• Oversee training initiatives and onboarding practices for continuous improvement.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the logistics team.
• Swiftly and effectively implement Logistics changes and innovations in a fast changing and rapid-paced environment.
• Ensure all internal and external stakeholders (including staff) are informed, aligned and accountable through effective communication.
• Maintain inventory accuracy across all warehouses.
• Oversee cycle counts and stock takes.
• Reduce stock losses and damages.
• Effectively manage FEFO (First Expired, First Out).
• Improve inventory control processes.
• Work closely with Finance and Merchandising on stock reconciliations.
