Our client is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Local Goods Delivery Driver to join their dynamic team in Randburg . This role involves the transportation and delivery of various goods within the metropolitan area, ensuring timely and safe arrivals. The ideal candidate will possess a valid driver's license (Code 8 or 10), a clean driving record, and excellent knowledge of the local road network. This hybrid position requires regular on-site presence for operational coordination, with potential for some remote administrative tasks. You will play a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction and the efficient operation of our client's delivery services.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver goods to customers' premises in a timely and professional manner within the Randburg area and surrounding suburbs.
• Safely operate delivery vehicles (vans or light trucks), ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
• Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing of all items.
• Plan and optimize daily delivery routes for maximum efficiency and punctuality.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections, including checks on tires, brakes, and lights, and report any necessary maintenance.
• Obtain proof of delivery by collecting signatures and documenting completed deliveries.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally during deliveries.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and fuel consumption data.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding delivery status and any operational challenges.
• Assist with inventory management, sorting, and organizing stock at the local depot as needed.

Requirements

• Valid South African driver's license (Code 8 or Code 10) and a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in local delivery driving.
• Thorough knowledge of the road network in Randburg and the wider Gauteng region.
• Good physical condition with the ability to lift and carry packages.
