About the Role Our client, a reputable distributor of building materials, is seeking a reliable and physically fit Local Goods Delivery Driver (Code 10) to join their team in Polokwane, Limpopo. This role involves the daily transportation and delivery of goods to construction sites and businesses within a defined local radius. The successful candidate must be adept at handling materials and possess excellent customer service skills, as they will be the primary point of contact for clients upon delivery. This is a hands-on role that requires punctuality and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Code 10 truck to deliver building materials and other goods to various local destinations.


• Ensure accurate loading and securement of goods before departure.


• Perform safe unloading of materials at customer sites, adhering to site-specific safety requirements.


• Maintain accurate delivery logs, including proof of delivery signatures and any notes on condition.


• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues.


• Navigate efficiently within the Polokwane area and surrounding regions.


• Provide professional and courteous service to all customers.


• Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.


• Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle.


• Assist with warehouse duties, such as stocktaking or organizing, when not engaged in deliveries.

Requirements

• Valid South African Code 10 (EC1) driver's license.


• Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).


• Previous experience as a truck driver, preferably with Code 10 vehicles and local deliveries.


• Experience in handling and delivering building materials or similar heavy goods is advantageous.


• Good physical condition, capable of lifting and maneuvering loads up to 25kg.


• Familiarity with the Polokwane road network.
