Job summary

Crew Life at Sea in Cape Town seeks a seasoned entertainment technician to operate and maintain video/content systems across the vessel’s venues, including the main theater and auxiliary spaces.

You will work with media servers and LED displays, install and troubleshoot gear, and support scheduled shows. A Bachelor's in theatre or entertainment tech plus 4+ years of experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in theater, 3D design, or entertainment technology from an accredited university or equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in entertainment or screen content and video operation, design, set up, and maintenance is required.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Pandoras Box, Resolume and/or Pixera and or TouchDesigner and/ or Notch and/or Chataigne.
• Extensive knowledge of video equipment, media servers, LED Screens, vocabulary, and relevant electrical knowledge.
• Experience working with expansive video systems, maintenance, cleaning, assembly, and technical troubleshooting.
• Experience with show networks (Art-Net, sACN, NDI) or configuring IP-based video/control systems necessary.
• Experience in light operations/ light show running necessary.
• Show control experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all video/content elements in the vessel's entertainment venues daily.
• Support media/video for scheduled events in the main theater and other venues.
• Troubleshoot and maintain video systems, media servers, LEDs, and related equipment.
• Configure IP-based video/control networks (Art-Net, sACN, NDI).
• Assist with light operations and show running.
• Show control experience is a plus.
