Job summary

Computer Experts Personnel in Johannesburg is seeking a dynamic Systems Administrator/DevOps Engineer to own the upkeep, upgrade, and management of a growing infrastructure. You will evaluate and implement tools for automation, with a focus on Windows Servers, Linux, VMware, Ansible, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Linux/Unix and Windows experience.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl).
• Knowledge of automation/configuration tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
• VMware knowledge and experience.
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN/WAN) and patch management.
• Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery.
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills.

Job Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual to take ownership of their role in maintaining, upgrading, and managing a diverse and growing infrastructure environment. You will be asked to explore, evaluate, and implement new software tools and technologies to help automate and simplify processes in order to achieve strategic goals. Some of the key technologies you will be working with and will need to provide guidance on are: Windows Servers, Linux Servers (Multiple flavours), VMware, Ansible, Kubernetes, Azure, and AWS.

What You Will Do
