Metso Corporation is seeking a Life Cycle Service Mill Relining Supervisor based in Rustenburg to lead mill relining teams, supervise planning and execution, and provide professional technical support to customers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mill relining projects including steel, Poly-Met, and rubber liners.
  • Previous supervisory roles leading field service or relining teams.
  • Strong knowledge of mill relining processes, inspections, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise mill relining teams and coordinate planning, organizing, and execution of relining projects.
  • Ensure parts, tools, equipment, transport, stock counts and site preparations are ready before work.
  • Lead safety activities including risk assessments, safe work procedures, audits, and MHSA compliance.
  • Coordinate daily customer interactions, service reporting, lockout procedures, and production handovers.
  • Monitor stock usage, service documentation, timesheets, and inspection results.
  • Review mill inspections, 2D/3D scanning results, and communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Plan liner requirements and coordinate spare parts with stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach and manage team performance, including training and after-hours support.

JOB TITLE: LCS MILL RELINING SUPERVISOR BASED IN RUSTENBURG, NORTH WEST

We're looking for a Life Cycle Service Mill Relining Supervisor to join our LCS team. In this role, you'll be responsible for leading mill relining activities, supervising relining teams, and providing professional technical support to customers. Your work will play a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality mill relining services while maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting operational excellence.

You will report to the LCS Mill Relining Contract Manager. This role is based in Rustenburg, North West, South Africa.

Team you belong to

You will join the LCS team, working closely with Service Business Line Technical Support teams, local service support teams, suppliers, and customers. The team is focused on delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality mill relining services while supporting customer operations and maintaining strong service standards.

What you'll do

  • Supervise mill relining teams and coordinate all planning, organizing, and execution activities for mill relining projects.
  • Ensure all parts, tools, equipment, transport, stock counts, and site preparations are completed before work begins.
  • Lead safety activities, including risk assessments, safe work procedures, audits, legal appointments, incident investigations, and compliance with MHSA and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Coordinate daily customer interactions, service reporting, lockout procedures, housekeeping activities, and production handovers.
  • Monitor stock usage, service documentation, timesheets, legal books, inspection results, and operational reporting requirements.
  • Review mill inspections, mill profiles, 2D and 3D scanning results, pin gauge measurements, and communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Plan liner requirements, communicate changes, and coordinate spare parts requirements with relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach, and manage team performance, including disciplinary processes, training, competence development, and after-hours callout support.

What you'll bring

  • Grade 12.
  • Relining Installation Certificate would be advantageous
  • Extensive experience in mill relining, including steel, Poly-Met, and rubber mill relining applications.
  • Previous supervisory experience leading field service or relining teams.
  • Strong knowledge of mill relining processes, installation practices, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and safety management systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
  • Valid C1 driver's license and PDP.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong technical, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build lasting customer relationships and work effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, cooperation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and lead teams in demanding operational environments.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy components and work in environments with noise, hazards, and changing site conditions.
  • Ability to travel as required and respond to breakdown callouts.
  • Must reside within the Rustenburg district and be able to be on-site within one hour of a breakdown callout.
