The ideal candidate is an admitted SA attorney with 5+ years of post-qualification experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to advise stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong expertise in corporate law, commercial law, and contract drafting/negotiation.
• Experience in corporate finance, M&A, or intellectual property is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to advise stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated understanding of risk management principles.
• Experience in the technology or agricultural sectors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise on corporate governance, company secretarial duties, and regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts and agreements.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
• Conduct legal due diligence for new business ventures and investments.
• Manage and resolve commercial disputes and litigation effectively.
• Provide legal counsel on employment law matters and HR-related issues.
• Stay updated on relevant legislation impacting the agricultural and technology sectors.
• Develop and implement internal legal policies and procedures.
• Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as required.
• Ensure adherence to data protection regulations (e.g., POPIA).
