Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Legal Advisor based in Paarl (Western Cape) to manage extensive contractual frameworks for an agricultural cooperative. You will ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate legal risks, and act as a key contact for legal matters affecting members and operations.

The role requires admitted SA attorney/conveyancer with 4–6 years in contract law and regulatory compliance, and a solid grasp of SA regulatory frameworks in agriculture.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney or Conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa.
• 4–6 years of experience in contract law and regulatory compliance.
• Strong drafting, reviewing, and management of commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and amend contracts including supply, service, and member agreements.
• Ensure contracts comply with South African legislation and standards.
• Advise on compliance with agricultural regulations, environmental law, and food safety.
• Develop and maintain internal policies for contract management and regulatory compliance.
• Manage and oversee dispute resolution arising from contractual obligations.
• Conduct legal research on regulatory issues affecting agriculture.

Our client, a prominent agricultural cooperative, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Legal Advisor to focus on Contracts and Compliance . This role is based in Paarl, Western Cape , a key region for South Africa's agricultural output. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the extensive contractual framework of the cooperative, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements, and mitigating legal risks associated with its operations. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and amend a variety of contracts, including supply agreements, service contracts, and member agreements.
• Ensure all contracts comply with relevant South African legislation and industry standards.
• Advise on compliance matters related to agricultural regulations, environmental law, and food safety.
• Develop and maintain internal policies and procedures related to contract management and regulatory compliance.
• Manage and oversee dispute resolution processes arising from contractual obligations.

Requirements
