Job summary

NTT DATA in Johannesburg seeks a Legal Advisor to provide practical legal and commercial guidance across an allocated portfolio. The role involves direct collaboration with business stakeholders on client, supplier and internal matters, including contracting, bids, risk and governance.

The successful candidate will own their portfolio, work with cross‑functional teams and escalate complex matters as needed. Hybrid working arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is required.
• Attorney of the High Court of South Africa admission preferred.
• Additional relevant legal or commercial qualifications are advantageous.
• Approximately two years PQE or five years legal experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and commercial advice to business stakeholders on client, supplier, third‑party and internal matters.
• Act as primary legal contact for allocated matters from instruction through to conclusion.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements including client, supplier, service, confidentiality and data processing agreements.
• Advise on contractual rights, obligations, risks and practical mitigation.
• Escalate complex or high‑risk matters and ensure governance compliance.
• Provide legal support on bids, proposals and transactions; review tender docs and identify risks.
• Identify, assess and manage legal risk within the portfolio; collaborate with Risk, Compliance and other functions.
• Coordinate external counsel for disputes, litigation or settlements; support corporate transactions.
