Job summary

Cape Peninsula University of Technology invites applications for a Lecturer in Oncology and Palliative Care. The role involves academic and clinical teaching, assessments, and coordination within the department, in a work-integrated learning environment.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s in Nursing Sciences (or equivalent), be registered with SANC as a professional nurse and nurse educator, and have postgraduate qualifications in Oncology and Palliative Nursing.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing Sciences or equivalent qualification.
• At least two years lecturing experience and/or 4 years clinical teaching experience in nursing.
• Proof of registration with the South African Nursing Council as a professional nurse and midwife.
• Proof of registration with the South African Nursing Council as a nurse educator.
• A postgraduate qualification in Oncology and Palliative Nursing.
• Possession of a driver’s license is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lecturer in the Oncology and Palliative programme as offered in the department.
• Partaking in skill laboratory activities and assessments in line with SANC requirements.
• Curriculum development and theoretical and clinical teaching and assessments.
• Implement and monitor academic and clinical records and progress of students.
• Academic administration from admissions to graduation.
• Adhere to quality assurance principles in the Department’s programmes.
• Engage in professional development and research projects.
