Job summary

• Supervise postgraduate students and produce research outputs aligned with departmental goals.
• Participate in departmental administration and industry engagement activities.
• Support simulation-based training and practical components when required.

Lecturer in Nautical Studies (Ref. M311)

The Department of Maritime Studies invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of a Lecturer in the Seagoing Maritime Programme. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong interest in maritime education, training, and research.

Minimum requirements

• A Master’s degree in Maritime Studies, Nautical Science, or a closely related maritime discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years of teaching and/or industry experience. (Seagoing experience relevant to the programme (Deck), supported by a valid or previously held Certificate of Competency (at Management Level) issued in terms of STCW).
