Job summary

IIE Rosebank International invites applications for a Lecturer in Early Childhood Development. The role involves delivering training and education, consulting with students, researching and developing disciplinary knowledge, and supporting the Academic department.

Requirements include a B.Ed or B.Ed Hons in Early Childhood Development, 1–3 years lecturing experience, and familiarity with South African FE/HE regulatory framework.

Qualifications

• B.Ed Hons in Early Childhood Development and Learning or a B.Ed in Early Childhood Development.
• 1–3 years of industry experience in the relevant field and lecturing/tutoring experience.
• Strong understanding of SA FE and HE environment and regulatory framework.
• Knowledge of Teaching-Learning theory and assessment methods.

Responsibilities

• Present content in a classroom environment (online or physical).
• Arrange consultations with students.
• Perform results analysis at a modular level.
• Mark assessments and provide constructive feedback.
• Employ interventions for at-risk students.

Job Purpose:

The role of a Lecturer is the delivery of training and education of students; student consultations; the establishment of a knowledge base of the discipline through academic research & development; whilst providing overall support to Academic department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Presenting content in a classroom environment (online or physical, as required)
• Arranging for consultations with students.
• Results analysis at a modular level.
• Marking assessments and providing constructive feedback
• Employing interventions for at-risk students.

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualifications –

• B.Ed Hons degree In Early childhood development and learning
• B.Ed degree in Early Childhood development

• Experience

-1 to 3 years of industry-specific experience in area of specialisation

-1 to 3 years lecturing/ tutoring experience.

-Solid understanding of the South African Further Education and Higher Education environment and regulatory framework

-Teaching-Learning theory

-Assessment methods and processes

• Teaching-Learning interventions
• Holistic lecturer and student support services

Working Hours (Full Time)

Classes are scheduled from 08h00am until 17h00pm, Monday to Friday. Your working hours will depend on the modules allocated to you.
