Placements24 in Gauteng is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician Lead to guide the maintenance team in the Benoni area. You will supervise daily operations, coordinate repairs, and mentor junior technicians to ensure safe, reliable turbine performance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a wind turbine technician, with 2+ years in a lead role, strong SCADA and electrical knowledge, and proven leadership and communication skills. A technical diploma in wind turbine technology is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Wind Turbine Technician with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Technical diploma or certification in Wind Turbine Technology or related field.
• Strong understanding of SCADA, electrical, and mechanical components of turbines.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of wind turbine technicians in maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on wind turbine systems.
• Perform complex component replacements including gearboxes, generators, and pitch systems.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company procedures.
• Manage work orders, maintain records of maintenance activities, and report turbine performance.
• Collaborate with operations managers to optimize turbine availability and energy output.
