Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior VFX Supervisor to lead the visual effects team in Randburg, delivering cinematic-quality work for feature films, television, and other media. You will direct the VFX pipeline from pre-visualization to final compositing, ensuring artistic integrity and technical excellence.

The role requires a visionary leader with deep hands-on experience across modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, and compositing, plus strong budgeting, scheduling, and client-management

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a VFX Supervisor or Lead VFX Artist in film or television.
• Deep understanding of all aspects of the VFX pipeline, including modeling, texturing, animation, lighting, rendering, and compositing.
• Proficiency with industry-standard VFX software (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Nuke, After Effects).
• Strong artistic eye and a keen understanding of cinematography and storytelling.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client-management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and schedules effectively for complex VFX projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the VFX team, guiding creative and technical execution for projects.
• Collaborate with directors, producers, and clients to develop and refine VFX concepts and strategies.
• Oversee the entire VFX pipeline, ensuring seamless integration and timely delivery of assets.
• Provide creative direction and technical problem-solving throughout the production process.
• Review and approve shots, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to project requirements.
• Stay current with emerging VFX technologies and workflows, and advocate for their adoption.
