Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Telecommunications Software Developer to head our software efforts in Sandton, Gauteng. You will guide a team of developers, shape technical direction, and drive delivery of advanced telecom software that powers next-generation networks.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in software development, strong leadership, and deep telecom domain experience across signaling, routing, and network management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role.
• Extensive experience in developing software for telecommunications systems (e.g., signaling, routing, network management).
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, or Go.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with telecommunications protocols (e.g., SIP, Diameter, SS7) is a significant advantage.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage and mentor development teams effectively.
• Must be able to work on-site in Sandton, Gauteng.
