Job summary

MSP Staffing (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town seeks a highly experienced Lead Structural Engineer to oversee the structural integrity and design of diverse projects. You will lead a team of engineers, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with architects and construction managers in a hybrid in-office/remote setup.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, 8+ years of experience, Pr Eng registration with ECSA, and proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• 8+ years of experience in structural engineering design and project management
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA
• Proficiency in structural analysis software SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro and CAD tools
• Strong understanding of South African building codes and international standards

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis for a variety of building and infrastructure projects
• Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and specifications developed by the engineering team
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior structural engineers and designers
• Collaborate with architects, construction managers, and other consultants to ensure integrated project delivery
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications
• Stay abreast of new technologies, materials, and building codes relevant to structural engineering
