About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding force in the renewable energy industry, is actively seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Solar Project Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This critical role will oversee the entire lifecycle of utility-scale and distributed solar PV projects, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to detailed design, construction, and commissioning. As a remote-first position, you will leverage advanced digital collaboration tools to lead project teams, engage with stakeholders, and drive the successful execution of solar energy initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and engineering of solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively for multiple solar projects simultaneously.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and energy yield analyses to determine project viability.
• Oversee the selection and procurement of solar equipment, including modules, inverters, and mounting structures.
• Collaborate closely with EPC contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
• Develop and review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges encountered during project execution and operation.
• Ensure the quality and safety of all project deliverables and installations.
• Stay current with advancements in solar technology, grid integration, and energy storage solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in solar PV project engineering and development.
• Demonstrated experience in leading the design and execution of large-scale solar projects.
• In-depth knowledge of PV system design, performance simulation tools (e.g., PVSyst), and electrical engineering principles.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and permitting processes in the energy sector.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, suitable for a remote team environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering design tools.
• Experience with energy storage systems integrated with solar projects is highly desirable.
