• Minimum 10 years in the operations and maintenance of large-scale renewable energy projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven PV, inverters and SCADA expertise; strong understanding of safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational lifecycle of multiple solar farms, ensuring maximum energy generation and uptime.
• Develop and implement comprehensive O&M strategies and plans.
• Lead and mentor a team of O&M technicians and engineers, fostering safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete operational lifecycle of multiple solar farms, ensuring maximum energy generation and uptime.

• Manage the performance of solar farm assets through data analysis, diagnostics, and predictive maintenance.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of O&M technicians and engineers, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
• Manage relationships with third-party contractors and service providers.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
• Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor grid compliance and liaise with utility providers.
• Prepare regular performance reports and presentations for senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• A Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the operations and maintenance of large-scale renewable energy projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrable expertise in photovoltaic (PV) systems, inverters, and SCADA systems.
• Proven experience in asset management and performance optimization of solar farms.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety principles and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and contract negotiation.
• Ability to analyse complex data and make informed operational decisions.
• Experience working in the Western Cape region is a plus.
