Placements24 is seeking a Lead Software Architect to set the technical vision for its IT and Software department in Tembisa. You will define architectural patterns, standards, and ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of enterprise systems.

Collaborate with engineering, product managers, and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust solutions, mentor teams, and drive cloud-native practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in CS or related field (or equivalent).
• 10+ years in software development, 5+ in architecture/leadership.
• Proven track record designing large-scale distributed systems.
• Knowledge of microservices and event-driven patterns.
• Expertise with cloud platforms and containers (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Define and document overall software architecture, technology choices and integration strategies.
• Provide technical leadership to development teams and enforce architectural standards.
• Evaluate new technologies to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
