Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a General Worker - Lead: Shift to support our distribution centre operations in Gauteng. You will manage daily shift activities, coordinate inbound/outbound flows, and drive KPI achievement while ensuring safety and compliance.

Ideal candidates will have Matric and 3 years of practical management experience, with strong communication and leadership abilities. This role focuses on maintaining service levels and supporting a great workplace culture.

Role Outline

Control and co-ordinate the timeouts and accurate movements within the DC. Effective daily running of the operation, manage resources and be able to make calculated decisions in times of crisis. Need to effectively manage Inbound, Outbound, Despatch, Inventory and Quality areas on shift. Management of KPI's set by the client need to be met and sufficient reporting to support and drive the operational needs. To plan, co-ordinate, manage and report upon the work activities of the team providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training and development. To direct, co-ordinate and plan the operation through effective scheduling of employees, planning of all functions, manage and control of employees and supervisors. To optimize all resources to ensure that the operation is managed effectively and that customer service standards are achieved and maintained. Ensure that all contractual KPI targets are achieved and maintained in accordance with the Service Level Agreement. To work in conjunction with the shift and Operations Managers to monitor, develop and allocate work to a group of subordinates in specific areas.

• Including regular monitoring to ensure these areas are maintained at a high level of compliance.
• Ensure daily or weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines are accomplished
• Maintained stock control procedures and continuously review to enable the daily reconciliation of theoretical and physical stock
• Maintain appropriate information / reporting systems to monitor site performance on an ongoing basis
