Department of Community Safety in Johannesburg seeks a dedicated Public Inspector with 3-5 years of practical experience and a valid Code B license to enforce traffic laws and ensure road safety. The role requires strong clerical skills, data capture, and the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.

You will supervise staff, coordinate law-enforcement activities, and provide evidence in court when needed. A Basic traffic diploma or equivalent is essential for appointment.

Qualificações

• Grade 12 or higher education is required.
• 3-5 years practical experience as PI (Public Inspector).
• Valid driving license – code B.
• Basic traffic diploma or equivalent qualification.

Responsabilidades

• Manage and supervise subordinates.
• Implement planned traffic law enforcement activities.
• Coordinate traffic control at congested areas and accident scenes.
• Attend court proceedings and give evidence when required.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and ensure compliance at DLTC/VTS centers.
• Provide visible traffic policing and crime-prevention support.
• Assist in road safety planning and overload control management.
