Job summary

Subverted Academy in Cape Town, with hybrid working options, is seeking a Lead Penetration Tester and Technical Content Creator to drive security tests across web, network and cloud environments while building lab content for the academy.

The role requires leading engagements end-to-end, producing detailed reports for diverse audiences, and mentoring junior staff. Candidates should demonstrate strong writing, communication and research capabilities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in penetration testing across web, network and cloud environments.
• Experience creating, maintaining and delivering technical educational content.
• Ability to write clear, detailed technical reports and documentation.
• Familiarity with industry-standard pentesting tools.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and cloud security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute penetration testing engagements across web, API, network and cloud assessments.
• Produce detailed, actionable reports for technical and executive audiences.
• Develop technical educational content, labs, write‑ups and research.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge internally.
• Stay current with emerging vulnerabilities, attack techniques and tooling.
• Contribute to internal tooling and methodology improvements.
• Assist creative teams in translating technical concepts for content.
