Job summary

Western Cape Government seeks a Chief Network Technologist to implement, support and maintain networks across the department. Travel within the Western Cape is required, with a 3-year IT qualification and at least 3 years in ICT network infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will lead ICT infrastructure architecture, operations, governance, and disaster recovery programs while coordinating with stakeholders and external vendors like Cisco and Huawei.

Qualifications

• An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher) in IT (NQF 6).
• Minimum of 3 years experience in ICT network infrastructure management or related field.

Responsibilities

• ICT Infrastructure Architecture, planning, design and configuration management.
• ICT Operations and Maintenance management.
• ICT Governance: coordinate and manage department ICT infrastructure and security policy, strategy and standards.
• ICT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity; ICT Program and Project management and Stakeholder Engagement.
