About the Role

Our client, a prominent family in Midrand, Gauteng, ZA, is seeking an exceptional Lead Nanny and Child Development Specialist to oversee the holistic development and well-being of their two young children (ages 3 and 5). Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs and activities, focusing on cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children, catering to any dietary restrictions or preferences.
• Manage daily schedules, including nap times, meal times, playtime, and learning activities.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment at all times, supervising children closely during all activities.
• Maintain open and consistent communication with parents, providing regular updates on the children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
• Organise and accompany children on educational outings and recreational activities in and around Midrand.
• Foster positive social interactions and teach essential life skills.
• Oversee children's hygiene and personal care routines.
• Collaborate with parents to ensure consistency in discipline and routines.
• Keep records of children's development, milestones, and daily activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in professional childcare, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Relevant certifications in Early Childhood Development (ECD), childcare, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience in curriculum development for young children.
• Excellent understanding of child psychology and development stages.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• First Aid and CPR certification is mandatory.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to a hybrid work schedule, balancing remote planning with on-site care in Midrand, Gauteng, ZA.
