Job summary

Bridgena Barnard & Associates client is seeking a skilled Millwright for a packaging/manufacturing environment in which you will maintain production machinery, ensure reliability and support continuous improvement across the plant. The role requires Red Seal trade status and extensive fault-finding experience.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnostics on electrical/mechanical systems, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and collaboration with Production and Engineering to improve

Qualifications

• Red Seal Trade Tested Millwright.
• N6/Nat Dip in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 35 years' experience in manufacturing/engineering/packaging.
• Experience in plastic manufacturing, packaging, FMCG or high-volume production advantageous.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with PLC-controlled machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime and standby.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
• Attend to machinery breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and troubleshoot automated plastic manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
