Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Lead Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost engineering for major infrastructure projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will lead a team of quantity surveyors, manage tendering, contract administration, and financial reporting to drive project commercial success.

The role demands a degree in Quantity Surveying, 10+ years of infrastructure experience, and SACQSP-registered or equivalent. Hybrid work balance offered in Richards Bay area.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' experience, with infrastructure project focus.
• Expertise in cost management, contract administration, and FIDIC forms.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure lifecycles and methods.
• Proficient with cost-estimating software and MS Office.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience leading a team of quantity surveyors.
• Willing to relocate to Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, with hybrid work.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates and BoQs for infrastructure projects.
• Manage tendering process, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts.
• Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with terms.
• Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports.
• Identify and manage commercial risks with mitigation strategies.
• Conduct site visits to verify work and assess progress for payments.
• Value engineer projects to identify cost-saving opportunities.
