Placements24 is seeking a Lead Information Security Architect to spearhead our security strategy in a remote-first setup. You will design, build, and maintain the enterprise-wide security architecture, providing technical leadership and strategic direction across engineering, operations, and business units.

You will shape the security roadmap, mentor teams, and drive the implementation of advanced security solutions to protect our digital assets in a global, distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a security architecture role.
• Proven expertise in enterprise-scale security architectures and cloud security principles.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills for executive stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overall enterprise security architecture strategy and roadmap.

About the Role

You will provide technical leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of information security, working collaboratively with engineering, operations, and business units. Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overall enterprise security architecture strategy and roadmap.
• Design, implement, and govern security controls and technologies across the organization, including cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Lead security architecture reviews for new projects and initiatives, ensuring security by design.
• Develop and enforce security standards, policies, and best practices for infrastructure, applications, and data.
• Architect solutions for threat detection, incident response, data loss prevention, and identity and access management.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to address evolving risks.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into secure architectural designs.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to security and IT teams.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
• Ensure the security architecture aligns with compliance requirements and regulatory mandates.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a security architecture role.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-scale security architectures.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, cryptography, and application security.
• Experience with a wide range of security technologies (SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, IAM, DLP).
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence cross-functional teams.
• Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to executive leadership.
• Relevant advanced security certifications (e.g., CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA) are highly desirable.
• Proven success in a fully remote, high-performance environment.
