About the Role Our client, WhatJobs Direct , is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Information Security Architect to join their fully remote team. This is a senior role where you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the security architecture that protects our client's critical information assets and infrastructure. Operating remotely, you will collaborate with diverse teams across the organization to embed security best practices into every facet of technology development and deployment. Your expertise will guide strategic security decisions, influence technical direction, and ensure our security posture remains robust against evolving threats. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement secure enterprise-level security architectures.
• Define and enforce security standards, patterns, and best practices across the organization.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of security technologies and solutions.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure, application development, and business teams to ensure security requirements are met.
• Develop roadmaps for future security architecture enhancements and capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance on security matters to project teams.
• Conduct security architecture reviews and risk assessments for new projects and systems.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive security architecture documentation.
• Stay abreast of emerging security threats, technologies, and architectural trends.
• Mentor and guide junior security architects and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in information security, with a significant focus on security architecture.
• Proven experience designing and implementing complex security architectures in large-scale environments.
• Deep understanding of network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), application security, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection.
• Expertise in security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, and TOGAF.
• Strong knowledge of security technologies including firewalls, WAFs, SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and encryption.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA, or CCSP are highly desirable.
• Experience leading technical teams and projects in a remote setting.
