Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to head operations in Rustenburg, North West. The role requires directing geotechnical investigations, design analyses, and reporting for mining and civil projects, with active client liaison and business development.

You will lead a team of geotechnical engineers, ensure technical quality, and manage budgets and timelines, while traveling to project sites across the province as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with geotechnical specialization.
• Professional registration (Pr Eng) with ECSA is mandatory.
• 10+ years of progressive geotechnical experience and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical investigation programs from planning to interpretation.
• Perform advanced analyses for foundations, slopes, retaining structures, and earthworks.
• Develop detailed geotechnical reports, specs, and recommendations for projects.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Coordinate site investigations and supervise field works.
