Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Geotechnical Engineer to oversee complex projects in George and surrounding areas. You will lead a team of geotechnical professionals, manage investigations, interpret data, and deliver expert guidance on infrastructure and development projects.

The role requires a MSc/MEng in Geotechnical Engineering, Pr Eng registration with ECSA, and at least 10 years of leadership experience, with proficiency in Plaxis or GeoStudio. Travel to site will be expected.

Qualifications

• MSc or MEng in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering with leadership capabilities.
• Extensive experience in managing geotechnical projects end-to-end.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Plaxis or GeoStudio.

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage geotechnical investigations and site characterization programs.
• Design suitable foundation systems (shallow and deep) for diverse structures.
• Develop ground improvement strategies for challenging soil conditions.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports with design recommendations and risk assessments.
• Oversee geotechnical drawings and specifications and mentor junior staff.
• Provide expert advice to project managers and clients and liaise with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with geotechnical codes and standards.
