Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Lead Geologist to spearhead exploration initiatives for global oil and gas interests. This fully remote role lets you leverage cutting-edge data and collaborate with a distributed team from your home office.

You will identify prospects, interpret data, and guide subsurface evaluation across regions, mentoring geologists and presenting findings to senior management. A senior candidate with leadership and broad geoscience expertise is required.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Geology or related geoscience field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in oil and gas exploration geology with a proven track record.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and geological modeling software.
• Strong understanding of basin analysis, sequence stratigraphy, and petroleum systems.
• Demonstrated leadership and experience managing remote technical teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for virtual collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead interpretation of geological and geophysical data to identify and evaluate new hydrocarbon prospects.
