Job summary

Apex Group in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant – Asset Allocator to administer funds accurately and on deadlines. The role requires end-to-end fund valuation knowledge and the ability to support various teams with client reporting and ad-hoc processes.

You will mentor junior staff, manage NAV inputs across systems, and assist in process improvements while delivering timely, high-quality outputs for institutional funds.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience as a fund accountant.
• BCom or equivalent in accounting/economics/investments.
• Experience in asset management portfolio administration and pricing.
• Familiar with investment products (Unit Trusts, ETFs, pension funds).

Responsibilities

• Produce and distribute accurate valuation files.
• Update daily prices in Apex systems and verify them.
• Mentor fund accountants and review valuations for accuracy.
• Understand NAV inputs and systems (Invest One, BEC, EMS, Creations).
• Perform ad-hoc Apex processes (MFC, TER, distributions).
• Respond to client and audit queries and maintain documentation.
• Support month-end deliverables and client reporting.
