Job summary

Core Group ZA is seeking a Lead Full Stack Developer to be the senior-most hands-on engineer in a delivery team. You’ll design and build the most complex, high-risk features across web and back-end services that power Core Group’s omnichannel platform, while raising the technical standard through strong design, code reviews and mentorship.

You’ll work across Angular/React front ends, .NET/C#, Node.js and SQL/NoSQL stores on Microsoft Azure, writing clean, versioned APIs and leading peer reviews

Qualifications

• 8+ years in full-stack software development.
• Recent experience as a senior or lead engineer.
• Deep hands-on experience across Angular, React, .NET/C#, Node.js, SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Cosmos DB.
• Strong Azure and API design with versioning.
• Excellent design, code-quality, testing and secure-coding discipline.
• Strong problem-solving and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and build complex end-to-end features across web front ends and back-end services.

About the opportunity

We’re looking for a Lead Full Stack Developer to be the senior-most hands-on engineer in a delivery team. You’ll personally design and build the most complex, highest-risk features across the web and back-end services that power Core Group’s omnichannel platform, while raising the technical standard of the wider engineering team through strong design, code review and mentorship.

What you’ll be doing

• Design and build complex end-to-end features across Angular/React front ends, .NET/C# and Node.js services, and SQL/NoSQL data stores.
• Contribute production code regularly and set the technical standard by example.
• Build and maintain back-end APIs and services used by web and native mobile clients, with clean, well-versioned contracts.
• Translate solution architecture into detailed component, API and data designs that the team can implement.
• Lead code and peer reviews, champion automated testing, clean code, maintainability and secure engineering practices.
• Mentor engineers and help strengthen technical craft without formal line-management responsibility.
• Design and build integrations between e-commerce, trade-in and POS and core ERP/OMS/WMS/CRM platforms using Azure integration technologies.
• Support production issue resolution and technical readiness for peak trading and major product launches.

What we’re looking for

• Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years in full-stack software development, including recent experience as a senior or lead engineer.
• Deep hands-on experience across Angular, React, .NET/C#, Node.js, SQL Server, PostgreSQL and/or Cosmos DB.
• Strong Azure and integration experience, including API design and versioning.
• Excellent technical design, code-quality, testing and secure-coding discipline.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to mentor and influence other engineers.

Advantageous

• Retail, e-commerce, POS or omnichannel experience.
• Experience building on Azure and the Azure Integration Stack at scale.
• Experience delivering through high-demand events such as product launches and peak trading.
