About the Role

Our client is a rapidly growing tech startup seeking an exceptional Lead Frontend Developer to spearhead their frontend development efforts. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex frontend features using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
• Architect and maintain scalable, reusable, and robust frontend codebases.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level frontend developers, fostering best practices and code quality.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to translate requirements into seamless user experiences.
• Optimize frontend performance for speed, scalability, and responsiveness across various devices and browsers.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Champion new technologies and methodologies to improve the development process.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex frontend issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional frontend development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
• Expert proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Deep experience with at least one modern frontend framework (React, Vue, or Angular).
• Strong understanding of state management, build tools (Webpack, Vite), and testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
