Placements24 is seeking a Lead Frontend Developer in Sandton to guide the frontend team, architect high-performance interfaces, and ensure pixel-perfect delivery. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with designers and product managers, and drive frontend quality across projects.

The role offers a hybrid work model with in-office collaboration in Sandton, Gauteng. You should bring 5+ years of frontend experience, strong React skills, and a passion for mentoring teams and delivering exceptional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of frontend development experience.
• Expertise in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• 3+ years of React.js experience and core principles.
• Experience with Redux or Context API.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous requests.
• Strong knowledge of build tools (Webpack, Babel) and Git.
• Experience with performance optimization techniques.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of responsive interfaces using React.
• Develop, test, and deploy high-quality frontend code.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers.
• Mentor junior frontend developers and provide code reviews.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Troubleshoot and debug frontend issues for a smooth user journey.
• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and advocate adoption.
• Contribute to frontend architecture and technical strategy.
