Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• 7+ years in environmental consulting or management with leadership experience.
• Professional registration with ECSA or relevant environmental body preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of South African environmental laws and regulations (NEMA, MPRDA).
• Proven experience in EIAs and Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Experience with GIS and environmental modelling tools is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage EIA studies for development projects.
• Develop and implement waste management and pollution control plans.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation at national and provincial levels.
• Conduct environmental audits, site assessments, and risk analyses.
• Prepare environmental reports, management plans, and permit applications.
• Supervise and mentor junior environmental engineers and scientists.
• Liaise with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders on environmental matters.
• Provide expert advice on environmental best practices and sustainable development.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Stay updated on evolving environmental policies and technologies.
