Job summary

RED|LINE Recruitment invites applications for a Design Architect based in Cape Town CBD. The role leads conceptual design and development across diverse sectors, taking projects from feasibility through to developed design.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years post-qualification experience, SACAP registration, and strong skills in Revit, SketchUp and BIM workflows. This is a permanent, mid-level position within a leading architectural practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture required.
• Professional SACAP registration required.
• 5–8 years post-qualification experience in architectural design.
• Experience delivering complex projects through feasibility, concept and developed design stages.
• Experience in multidisciplinary design teams.
• Experience presenting concepts to clients and facilitating design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualisation and design development of complex architectural projects.
• Produce design and technical information across SACAP/PROCSA work stages 1–4.
• Develop innovative concepts aligned with client objectives and environment.
• Present design concepts, feasibility studies, masterplans and proposals to clients.
• Evaluate options and progress concepts through schematic and developed design stages.
• Coordinate design with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure integration of engineering, sustainability and specialists.
• Maintain design intent throughout project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with visualisers and graphic designers for high‑quality presentation material.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to design capability growth.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Contribute to proposals and business development where required.
