Job summary

Absa Bank Limited is seeking a seasoned Senior Regulatory Reporting professional to lead the credit risk regulatory reporting function. You will ensure data quality, governance and compliance with BCBS239, while coordinating with governance bodies and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements.

The role demands strong regulatory knowledge, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on experience with data analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI and SQL to monitor and optimize reporting

Qualifications

• Strong regulatory reporting knowledge for credit risk.
• Experience in governance and audit within banking.Regulatory reporting process knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain end-to-end understanding of credit risk regulatory reporting production process.
• Engage with regulatory data production leaders; advise on data management and controls.
• Provide guidance on monitoring risk and controls per best practices.
• Drive engagement with data/process owners and assurance partners across the value chain.
• Develop indicators, tools and metrics to monitor data quality in regulatory reporting.
• Develop early warning mechanisms for deterioration in risk and control environment.
• Prepare operational performance updates for governance forums.
• Implement governance structures within the regulatory reporting function.
• Participate in oversight committees and share remediation recommendations.
• Provide second line review of monthly reporting results, packs, reconciliations.
• Monitor control failures and risk events and report to senior management.
• Coordinate remediation of audit findings and data quality gaps.
• Train production teams on controls and data quality validation.
• Ensure BCBS239 compliance and embed BCBS 239 in reporting.
• Embed new reporting tools and software.
• Review Risk & Control Assessments and Critical Process Assessments.
• Collaborate with assurance partners to plan and execute testing.
• Perform control testing and deep-dive reviews as needed.
