Placements24 is seeking a visionary Lead Concept Artist to guide the artistic direction of exciting new projects in Pretoria. You will establish and maintain the visual style and overall aesthetic of our games, translating abstract ideas into tangible and inspiring visual references.

In this role, you will lead a team of concept artists, collaborate with game designers and art directors, and ensure a cohesive, visually stunning final product for players in Pretoria.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Concept Artist in the gaming or entertainment industry, with a strong portfolio demonstrating versatility.
• Proven ability to lead and manage an art team.
• Expert proficiency in digital painting software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or similar.
• Strong understanding of form, color theory, composition, and perspective drawing; excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and champion the overall visual style and art direction for game projects.
• Create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and key visual moments.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of concept artists, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
• Collaborate effectively with game designers, 3D modelers, and art directors to ensure visual consistency.
• Develop and maintain art style guides and reference materials for the art department.
