Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a visionary Lead Blockchain Architect in George, Western Cape to establish and guide the organization’s blockchain infrastructure. You will define the architectural vision, select platforms, and lead a team of engineers in a fast-paced crypto environment.

The role requires 10+ years in software architecture with at least 5 years in blockchain, strong cryptography knowledge, and leadership capabilities to translate complex concepts into strategic technical plans.

Qualifications

• Master's/PhD in Computer Science, IT, or related quantitative field.

Responsibilities

• Define and oversee the architectural design of enterprise-grade blockchain solutions.
• Evaluate and select blockchain platforms, consensus protocols, and development frameworks.
• Develop technical strategies for enhancing blockchain scalability, interoperability, and performance.
• Establish and enforce security best practices for blockchain networks and smart contracts.
• Lead and mentor a team of blockchain developers and engineers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies and proof-of-concept projects for new blockchain technologies.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural diagrams and design specifications.
• Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in the blockchain and cryptocurrency landscape.
