Placements24 is seeking a Lead Avionics Systems Engineer in George, Western Cape, with a hybrid work model blending on-site collaboration and remote work. Formación

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in avionics systems engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of avionics systems (FMS, navigation, comms, surveillance, autopilot, cockpit displays).
• Experience with avionics communication protocols (ARINC 429, AFDX, Ethernet).
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink; strong understanding of certification processes (DO-178C, DO-254).

Responsabilidades

• Lead design, development, integration, and validation of avionics systems for aircraft.
• Oversee technical direction and mentor avionics engineers.
• Define system requirements, architecture, and interfaces for avionics subsystems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, flight test, and certification authorities.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for avionics development.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and certification processes.
• Develop and execute test plans including HIL and flight tests.
• Prepare technical documentation and conduct design reviews.
