Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Mechanic to join our Johannesburg workshop. You will lead diagnostic efforts, perform complex repairs, and mentor junior technicians to uphold top‑tier vehicle maintenance and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a senior role, strong expertise across engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes and electrical systems, and proven skill with diagnostic tools and software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a senior or lead automotive mechanic role.
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record and relevant trade qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues across various makes and models.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, rotations, brake inspections.
• Provide detailed reports on recommended repairs after inspections.
• Lead and mentor junior mechanics to maintain quality standards.
• Use diagnostic equipment and manuals to identify and fix complex problems.
• Maintain clean, safe workspace and follow safety regulations.
