Placements24 is seeking a Lead Architectural Drafter for its Paarl, Western Cape office. You will lead a team translating design concepts into precise construction documentation, using AutoCAD and Revit.

Experience in commercial and retail projects is essential, with a strong eye for detail and adherence to standards. You will mentor junior drafters, coordinate with structural and MEP teams, and ensure documentation control and quality across the drawing set.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of architectural drafters in the production of construction drawings.
• Develop detailed architectural drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and details using CAD and BIM software.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project specifications and company standards.
• Coordinate drawings with other disciplines, such as structural and MEP, to ensure clash-free designs.
• Review and verify shop drawings and submittals from contractors.
• Assist architects in preparing design development and construction documentation.
• Manage drawing registers and ensure proper document control.
• Troubleshoot and resolve drafting-related issues.

• Strong understanding of architectural drafting standards, building codes, and construction terminology.
• Experience with commercial and retail projects is essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with the Western Cape design and construction landscape, particularly in Paarl , is a plus.
