Placements24 is seeking a visionary Lead Architectural Designer to spearhead innovative design initiatives in their George studio. You will set the design direction for diverse projects across the Western Cape, influencing aesthetic and functional quality while ensuring technical feasibility.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture with at least 7 years of progressive design experience, strong leadership capabilities, and proficiency in Rhino, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in architectural design, with a focus on concept development.
• Ability to lead design teams and manage multiple design projects concurrently.
• Excellent graphic and visualization skills; strong knowledge of SA building regulations and Western Cape context.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop innovative architectural designs for diverse project types, from residential to commercial developments.
• Lead design charrettes and workshops, fostering collaboration among design teams.
• Produce high-quality conceptual renderings, 3D models, and design development documentation.
• Review and approve design work by junior designers and draftspersons to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Liaise with clients and project managers to understand briefs, gather feedback, and present concepts effectively in George.
• Stay abreast of emerging design trends, materials, and technologies to inform design strategies.
